About Me

An Independent Voice
for Real Change.

Hello Melbourne! I’m Timothy Smith—entrepreneur, former TV personality, and now your independent candidate committed to driving real change. You may recognise me from Married at First Sight 2024, but beyond that, I’ve built a career in real estate right here in our community. I’ve been a Prahran local renter before recently buying my own apartment, so I understand firsthand the challenges of rising crime, unaffordable housing, and high rents—and I’m ready to tackle these issues head-on.

I’m not bound by any political party, which means I can focus on what truly matters to you—practical solutions that benefit all Melburnians. I’m determined to create a Melbourne that works for everyone, where the cost of living is manageable, housing is affordable, and crime is under control. Together, we will make this happen.

Why I’m Running.

Melbourne is a city with immense potential, but right now, we’re facing major challenges. From the escalating cost of living, and rising crime rates, to the housing crisis, it’s clear that our current system and the incumbents are failing us. We need bold, decisive action.

As an independent candidate, I’m committed to putting the needs of everyday Melburnians first, and I’m ready to deliver results. No more waiting for change—the time is now.

I’m focused on real solutions. Whether it’s tackling crime with stronger laws, supporting our most vulnerable with proper social services, or making housing affordable through smart regulation and better construction practices, I will take action. I won’t shy away from the tough challenges. I’m here to fight for a safer, more affordable, and more inclusive Melbourne. Let’s get it done together.

My Priorities

Real action on the
Cost of Living
Championing local markets and lower costs for farmers. Including reduced taxes for Queen Victoria Market, Gleadell Street Market, and Prahran Market to strengthen the local economy. Advocating for more affordable public transport while addressing cost blowouts in major projects such as the Metro and Suburban Rail Loop.
Support for the Vulnerable
and Action on Crime
Offering real support for homelessness and drug abuse through effective social services. Reforming bail laws and the criminal justice system to ensure community safety, accountability and fairness.
Practical Action on Housing Affordability and Reduced Rent
Taking practical steps to make housing more affordable, including stricter regulations on body corporates, tackling high rents and better quality apartment and townhouse developments.
Direct Democracy and
Social Inclusion
Introducing measures for direct democracy via the use of social media to give everyday Melburnians a greater voice in decision-making, reducing the influence of entrenched political parties and lobbyists.
Supporting Real Action on
Climate and Energy
Fighting for lower electricity prices for small businesses and households through solar and battery energy incentives, promoting energy efficiency, and supporting the use of recycled resources.

This campaign isn’t just about me—it’s about all of us.
It’s about making Melbourne a city that works for everyone, not just the powerful. If you’re looking for a candidate who listens, takes action, and isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and get things done, I’d love your support.
